Modern Short Stories

For Sophie; things no longer go bump in the dead of night, they use modern technology. Read Erin's paranormal short story The Visit or check out the thriller The Basement At 21, Andie bounced down the stairs of the basement and stumbled across a life-changing discovery. Now five years later she is drawn to return to one place that had always been forbidden.

Welcome to my website

The TRANSFORMATION of erincawood.co.uk has begun

I spent weeks learning how to use CSS and redesigning my website at the beginning of 2010 only to lose it all when I switched my PC off one night in late spring and it wouldn't switch back on the following morning. So I've been working on my laptop ever since. I installed the web-design program and downloaded my site from the internet server only to find it no longer formatted the way it once had and a new website was required. With everything else that went on in my life in the later part of 2010, I just haven't had the time to give the site the love and attention it needs. So here we go ... lots of loving attention beginning today.... Valentine's Day.

There's plenty to see and do on erincawood.co.uk

Have a good old nosey around my site and enjoy the free online poetry, you can even take some away by downloading 'Inside My Writing Space - Poetry Collection 2010'. Learn all about me, my life, my writing and my dreams. And stay tuned for the extracts from my current novels in progress, and short stories.

A little bit about me...

Erin Cawood - Copyright Paul Miguel My favourite place in the whole world is 'Fiction World'
I am at my most relaxed when I am writing, it hardly seems like a any work at all. Many of you who love reading will understand the phrase 'there's nothing else like escaping into a good book'. Well I guess it works a little differently for me.

I've probably been writing stories since first learning to write my name - I had a wild imagination as a child, fire breathing dragons and worlds inter-connected by giant slides. My first series of short stories was about a girl haunted by ghosts and I'd penned my first novella by the time I was fourteen

Inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere - "My arms and legs they ache" popped into my head on my walk home one day. By the time I got home I'd pretty much written the entire poem Insomina. Some poems will just tumble from my mind, such as Ony You. My favourite poem written by myself is currenty If Love Wasn't Measured in Flowers.

Currently in Progress:
