A Poem for You
You never write poems for me you say
When you read one I wrote for someone else one day
Well, I'm sorry you don't inspire me this way
and rhyming rhythms just don't work that way
But know who you are when I think of you
And know that the words are more than a few
Don't think that I've put you to the back of the queue
Only that the writing is wild and belongs in a zoo
Sometimes writing is a difficult game
I have to sit down and focus the brain
Sometimes the words they fall like rain
And crafting this magic is hard to tame
You inspire my writing at various stages
Through multiple characters and various places
You're always there through the different phrases
You take your place behind the thousands of pages
