The Wicked Witch
Do you remember when ...
... I was sick and you were there
Curled up in granddad's chair... I didnt care
Or on my birthday and you were there
Oh I did care... about the green dress I could not wear
And when I wanted to me rice crispy cakes,
A total disaster that you have to save.
Nudge Nudge, Wink wink, I'll take the blame
But chocolate doesnt melt in the microwave
Do you remember...
Ugh! I hate you! For interferring in my life
Urgh! I hate you! For causing me grief and strife
Holding my palms up to the birds and the bees
Urgh! I hate you! For embarassing me!
Do you remember when...
He called to you... his arms out wide
And in slow motion you started to stride
In your eyes a wicked gleam
as you reenacted so romantic movie scene
Oh my god! I'm not with you!
I turned away from the check out queue
So ...
On your birthday if I'm not there
Its not about the fashion faux pas I could not wear
And when you're sick I will be there
I'll even curl up in gang-gang chair.
There's a bond, a knowledge, it something we share
And it's the instinct to know when we need to be there
The black sheep we may be
But nothing messes with our family
There most be mistakes from days that are gone
But there are seven who can say you didn't go wrong
I guess what I'm trying to say, now that I'm done
Is thank you for being the bestest ever... Mum
