A Love Story - Poem 1
The Wounds of Anothers Blade
How can I be angry with you?
This isn't even your fault
You didn't open this wound
Or mean to rub it with salt
Your only dream was a life with me
Maybe we headed that way too quick
If only we'd stopped for a second or three
Maybe I woudn't feel quite so sick
You disappeared before our big day
And no one's heard from you since
But I shouldn't have to find out this way
Are you really a conglomerate prince?
You promised you would be there
No matter whatever it took
A love like ours in a gemstone rare
We're a new chapter in Cupid's book
An ex-girlfriend you said, not your wife
Why didn't you tell me the truth?
But the police they came to destroy my life
So I'd love to hear your excuse
Your wife she's dead and there are no clues
Except you're not where you said you'd be
And I'm a shadow, a no one, a dirty bruise
Because your family don't know about me
So I'm standing in my wedding dress
With there eyes burning towards me
I have a hotel full of our wedding guests
In a police station I should be
"What I have to say maybe hard to take"
He says, and I know I'm going to lose
With head in hands, my heart it breaks
It's never easy to hear bad news
So you were found and I am lost
Were the secrets worth the cost?
Was it a life with me or just a game?
Is it even fair to hold you to blame?
Years from now will I be angry with you?
Will this tainted heart believe love was true?
Are these precious memories for me to save?
Or should I just walk away from your grave?
